I bought a pair of these last week, to replace a pair of Genelec 8010s (Genelec's smallest monitors) and, honestly, the difference is night an day. I bought a sub-woofer for the 8010's but these things, whilst they are slightly larger, pump out plenty of bass, right down into the lower frequencies. I haven't even bothered with my sub since I got these. They sound absolutely amazing! For the money they are a steal.
@@southhour5241 I'd definitely go for these. The Genelecs are great, and they get stupidly loud for their size, but they really lack a lot of bass. I wouldn't consider using them without a subwoofer. OTOH, I'd happily mix and master an album on these Adams, confident that they won't let me down. That said, I have noticed that you can pump too much bottom end into them, which makes the passive radiators go funny, but you'll know straight away when that happens and turning down the volume will fix it. To be clear, it ha sonly been noticeable when I've first added an instrument and it's way too loud in the mix, they have never played up once I get the mix going. It is not somethign that woudl stop me recommending them.
Set mine up yesterday. Very impressed with the product after about an hour of reference track critical listening. Haven't mixed with them yet, but I'm confident they'll perform well above their price point.
I’m in Person was looking to start his own recording studio. Thank you so much. I’m currently working on KALI audio I N5 with the WS 12 subwoofer these are an awesome portable pair. I will definitely be getting these. i’m a blind person who is looking to start my own recording studio.
without an interface can u use this with a daw and us a low buffer rate like 32... bc if im traveling and dont bring my interface and connect it to that digi o/p does it have its one os software that can change the buffer rate low? or do i have to stick with my daws lowest buffer rate 256.... whuch suchs when using midi controllers....
Yes, you can plug in Adam Audio D3V speakers without an audio interface because they have a USB-C port that allows for a direct digital connection to computers, tablets, and mobile devices. The USB-C port acts as an audio output device, allowing for high-resolution audio playback at 24-bit/48kHz.
Thanks for this review. I have a small room that is not treated, and initially I was thinking in getting the Adam T5V since is almost the same price the pair, but then they launched this model that is smaller and probably more convenient for my space, but the big question is, which one could bring more value for the price? Could I mix my tracks decently with the D3V? Thanks!
Thanks for watching and yes I think you will be fine with these monitors. I have the ROCKIT 6 monitors and now I will be using the D3V monitors. They sound really good for the size.
Thanks for the review! Am real close to pulling the trigger on these for my new m4 mini setup, the size is perfect for my desk top monitor stand. BTW they are D3V's not dv3's as written in the title and description. Will help your views with the algo if you correct it.
Well I ended up scoring some Kali LP UNFs for a great Black Friday deal (237 bucks) and I am more than happy with them. Dunno how the D3Vs sound in comparison but these Kalis are absolute monsters for their size. Not sure if a 3.5" could be as full sounding. Amazing and highly recommended.
Mine did not sound anywhere near as good as yours out of the box. They sound great now but they definitely needed breaking in for a few days while I was gone.
How does it performs compared to your rokit 6”? I know at high levels it might have some distortion in low frequencies . But how about in lower levels (let’s say 50%)? Does it have a clear low end ?
Yeah, it does have pretty good bottom end for a 3.5 speakers. The passive radiators on each side are a great addition to the monitors putting out great lows for a small size 3.5 monitor. My 6inch Rokits are gonna be better for sure because they are bigger and deeper in size. The Rokits at the time were $300 each. I have 6 inch and 4 inch Rokits on my desk. The Adam Audio Monitors are pretty good for sure 👍 😄
I'm strictly a guitar player and am looking for monitors for practice through my interface and plugins. Would these sound too boxy for that application?
As far as I know they go in standby after 20 minutes of no signal (according to the website). Of course it's a single click to get them up and running again. I am not really thrilled about such standby modes, but more and more monitors got that. At the other hand, if you have no audio for 20 minutes then taking one second for pushing a button will not be that of a hassle. Nevertheless - It would be nice if you could switch off that standby mode completely.
Hi, thanks for the video. I have a question like this. I own an Iloud Micro Monitor. I'm wondering if I should replace them with Adam? Are they better? Sound quality, bass?
They sound incredible. I found that moving them wider apart on the desk like you had, rounds the bass out nicely
Thank you for watching the video and yeah they sound great for sure.
These studio monitors are amazing and you buy them as a pair.😀🤟🤟👍👍

That is great to hear that you are happy with them and glad they are a better fit for your studio!
How do you feel about hem in contrast to the 8010's? I was going to buy them Genelecs but I saw these I'm currently making my choice.

Im excited to get my hands on these, you just simply can't go wrong with Adam Audio and for my small space this just seems like a godsend!
Yeah they are pretty cool that's for sure. I never seen any monitors like these before.

Good video bro. This is like their introduction into this range of studio monitors... I can see them getting bigger, like 5 inch one day
I agree, it's a great addition to their lineup.

is it any good or bad than Kali Audio LP-UNF 4.5 ? did anyone compare those 2
I would like to check out those too and compare.
i want to get these speakers but i want the stands thats in photo you showed ? any idea where to buy them
The Adam Audio Monitors come with stands
Do these need to be used with a sub? Do they sound "hollow" in the mid bass like most small monitors?
I think they sound good and I am picky when it come to small monitors. These are good for beginners and pros

very cool

No I think these would work well for you. I'm a guitar 🎸 player too and I love these monitirs.
@@themusicianslounge8562 Thanks for the reply. Have you tried any of the Adams T5V or T7V for comparison? They aren't much more expensive.
How long is the cable that connects the right speaker to the left speaker?
About 3 to 4ft
@themusicianslounge8562 thanks, just picked these up today in white
Do these go into standby mode with inactivity over time? Torn between these and iLoud micro's
That I don't know but I will find out for you
@@themusicianslounge8562 Thanks. Appreciated!

do you think they have a good weight to carry on a backpack?
I think it will be ok in a big backpack. They do have some weight to them. These are made pretty good with great material.
Hi, thanks for the video. I have a question like this. I own an Iloud Micro Monitor. I'm wondering if I should replace them with Adam? Are they better? Sound quality, bass?
I never tried those before but these Adam Audios are really good because of the passive radiators on each side of the monitors.
